This circlip secures the bearing assembly inside the front drive axle housing of the host tractor. It sits in a machined groove on the housing bore, preventing axial movement of the shaft and bearing stack under load. A circlip that has been over-spread during removal or that shows corrosion on its engagement face can allow the bearing to shift, producing driveline vibration and eventual seal failure. This original-manufacturer part is formed to the same groove width and edge profile as the factory component, so it seats fully without rocking. On reinstall, verify that the circlip is fully seated in the groove and that its ends do not protrude into the bearing race path.
