This gear lever connector links the shift rod to the transmission selector mechanism inside the tractor cab. It transmits the linear motion of the gear lever into the rotational or sliding movement required to engage the desired gear ratio. The connector is a wear item; a worn or elongated bore introduces slop in the shift linkage, causing imprecise gear engagement and difficulty finding the correct gate. The original AGCO component is machined to the same bore tolerance as the factory assembly, which eliminates the need for bushing shims or reaming during installation. On reinstall, ensure the retaining clip is fully seated and the shift rod is adjusted to its neutral position before tightening the lock nut.
