This clutch actuating rod transmits the driver's pedal input to the clutch release mechanism inside the transmission housing. It connects the pedal linkage to the release fork, converting linear motion into the fork's pivot action that disengages the clutch pack. A worn or bent rod introduces free play at the pedal, reducing the effective travel available to fully disengage the clutch, which can cause gear clash on engagement. The rod is machined to the same length and thread specification as the original assembly, so the release-fork pivot point remains at the correct position relative to the clutch cover. On reinstallation, verify that the rod end seats fully in the clevis pin and that the lock nut is torqued to spec.
