This friction disc is a mechanical component installed inside the gearbox of the host tractor. The disc sits between the clutch pack and the pressure plate; its contact surfaces are the interface that transfers power when the pack is compressed. A worn disc reduces clamping force, leading to slipping under load and eventual loss of drive to the wheels. The manufacturer machines this disc to the same thickness and inner diameter as the original assembly, so the clutch pack maintains its designed spring compression and engagement timing. On reinstallation, ensure the contact faces are clean and free of oil, and torque the pressure-plate fasteners to the specified value.
