This friction disc transmits torque from the engine to the transmission input shaft by engaging against the pressure plate and flywheel. It sits inside the clutch housing, where its splined inner diameter mates with the transmission input shaft. The friction material on both faces provides the clamping surface that the pressure plate compresses to lock the driveline. When the friction material wears below the minimum thickness, the clutch begins to slip under load, causing power loss and heat buildup in the pressure plate assembly. This original AGCO disc is machined to the same thickness and spline geometry as the factory-installed component, so the clutch release bearing travel and pedal free play remain within specification without adjustment.
