This oil seal sits at the output of the rear axle housing, retaining lubricating oil inside the differential and final-drive cavity while excluding dirt and moisture from the wheel-end bearings. It seals the rotating axle shaft against the stationary housing bore. A worn or hardened seal allows gear oil to weep past the lip, which can lead to bearing failure from lubricant starvation or contamination. The seal is an original AGCO component, molded to match the housing bore's interference fit and the shaft's seal-track surface finish so that no additional shimming or adapter rings are required. On installation, inspect the shaft contact surface for grooving or pitting and replace the seal if any damage is present.
