This metal-rubber cab shock absorber dampens vertical and lateral vibrations transmitted from the tractor chassis to the cab structure. It mounts between the cab floor and the chassis mounting bracket, isolating the operator station from road and field shocks. A worn or collapsed absorber allows excessive cab movement, which reduces operator comfort and can cause fatigue in adjacent cab-mount hardware. The original AGCO component uses a bonded rubber element with a specified compression rate that matches the cab's static load and suspension travel. On replacement, inspect the mounting bolts and torque them to specification; the rubber element should show no cracks or permanent set before installation.
