This gear is installed inside the hydraulic pump assembly of the host tractor. It is the driven element that transmits rotary motion from the pump input shaft to the internal pumping mechanism. Wear on the gear teeth or bore reduces pump flow and can cause cavitation noise or slow hydraulic response. The original manufacturer machines the gear to the same tooth profile and shaft fit as the original assembly, so no shimming or adapter is required during replacement. On reinstall, ensure the gear rotates freely in the housing before closing the pump.
