This engine oil filter removes particulate and contaminants from the engine lubrication circuit before oil reaches the bearing surfaces and turbocharger. It mounts directly to the engine block and houses the filter media that captures wear debris and combustion byproducts. A restricted filter reduces oil flow, which can lead to elevated engine temperatures and accelerated bearing wear. The filter uses a 1-12 UNF thread to match the engine block adapter, and the housing seal must be replaced at each service interval. Torque the filter to the specification printed on the housing or in the service manual.
