This battery clamp secures the negative terminal of the starter battery to the battery post. It provides the electrical connection between the battery and the chassis ground circuit. A loose or corroded clamp causes intermittent starting, voltage drops, and can prevent the alternator from charging the battery correctly. This original component is formed to match the post taper and the cable lug interface of the host tractor, ensuring full contact area for minimum resistance. On installation, clean the battery post and cable lug to bare metal before tightening the clamp.
