This multi-ribbed belt drives the air-conditioning compressor and selected auxiliary components on the host tractor. It transmits torque through six longitudinal ribs that engage with matching pulleys on the crankshaft, compressor, and idler assembly. A belt that has stretched or developed cracks will cause the compressor to slip, reducing cooling capacity and potentially throwing the belt off the pulley track. The original belt is molded to the same rib profile and pitch as the pulley grooves, so it seats fully without requiring a tensioner adjustment beyond the standard range. On replacement, inspect the idler bearing and pulley surfaces for wear, and set the static deflection to the value specified in the service manual for the drive layout.
