It carries two cutting edges that engage the crop material as the bar reciprocates, shearing the stems against the stationary counter-knife. The hole spacing and diameter match the bar’s mounting studs, allowing the knife to be bolted directly in place. A worn or dull double knife increases cutting force, leading to ragged stubble and higher fuel consumption. As an original part from the manufacturer, the steel blank is formed to the same profile and edge geometry as the original assembly, so it seats correctly against the wear plates without adjustment. On installation, use new bolts and torque them to the bar manufacturer’s specification.
