This cab filter removes airborne dust and pollen from the air entering the operator station. It is installed in the filter housing behind the cab roof panel, upstream of the HVAC blower and evaporator coil. A loaded filter restricts airflow, reducing ventilation efficiency and causing the blower motor to run at higher speeds to compensate. The filter media is pleated to increase surface area while maintaining a low pressure drop across the element. When replacing, note the airflow direction arrow on the filter frame and ensure the gasket seats fully against the housing rim to prevent bypass leakage.
