It is formed to the routing path of the host tractor, connecting the water-pump outlet to the radiator inlet or the return line from the thermostat housing. A cracked or collapsed hose allows coolant loss and air entry, leading to localized overheating and potential head-gasket failure. The original hose is molded to the same bend geometry as the assembly it replaces, so it maintains the correct clearance from adjacent components and does not kink under thermal expansion. On replacement, drain the coolant below the hose level, clean the sealing surfaces, and tighten the clamps to the specified torque.
