This exhaust gas pressure sensor monitors backpressure in the engine's exhaust system. It provides a signal to the engine control unit, which uses the data to manage regeneration cycles and exhaust aftertreatment operation. The sensor is mounted on the exhaust manifold or downstream pipe, where it reads the pressure differential across the diesel particulate filter or selective catalytic reduction system. A failed or inaccurate sensor can cause incomplete regeneration, increased fuel consumption, or a derated engine condition. As an original AGCO component, the sensor is calibrated to the same pressure-response curve as the factory-installed unit, ensuring the control unit receives correct readings without offset compensation. When replacing, clean the mounting boss and apply anti-seize compound to the threads to prevent seizure in the exhaust housing.
