It runs on multi-groove pulleys and relies on its ribbed profile to maintain traction without slipping under load. A worn or glazed belt produces a squealing noise at startup and can cause the alternator to undercharge or the cooling fan to run below speed. The original manufacturer's belt is molded to the same rib pitch and depth as the pulley grooves in the host tractor, so it seats fully without requiring a tensioner adjustment beyond the standard range. On replacement, inspect the idler pulley bearings and tensioner arm for free movement before installing the new belt.
