This exhaust manifold gasket seals the joint between the exhaust manifold and the cylinder head on the host tractor. It contains the high-temperature exhaust gases within the manifold, preventing leaks that would reduce backpressure and engine efficiency. A failed gasket produces a ticking sound during engine operation and can allow hot gases to damage nearby wiring or hoses. As an original-manufacturer component, its material thickness and crush characteristics match the factory specification, so no re-torquing of the manifold bolts is required after the initial heat cycle. Replace the gasket whenever the manifold is removed for service.
