This engine oil filter removes particulate contamination from the lubricating oil before it circulates through the engine bearings and turbocharger. It mounts to the filter head on the engine block, where unfiltered oil enters the outer annulus and passes through the filter media to the clean side before exiting to the main oil gallery. A clogged filter forces the bypass valve open, allowing unfiltered oil to reach critical wear surfaces, which accelerates bearing and journal damage. As an original AGCO component, the filter media and bypass-valve cracking pressure are matched to the engine's lubrication circuit so that the valve opens only when the element is fully loaded. On replacement, ensure the old gasket is removed from the filter head and lubricate the new gasket before tightening to the specified torque.
