This sealing ring sits on the front axle of the host tractor, forming a static seal between the axle housing and the adjacent component. It prevents lubricant leakage and keeps contaminants out of the axle assembly. A degraded or compressed seal allows oil seepage past the joint, which can lead to reduced lubricant level and accelerated wear on the axle bearings. The ring is an original AGCO component, molded to the same cross-section profile as the factory seal so it seats correctly in the groove without additional shimming or sealant. On reinstallation, clean the mating surfaces and verify the ring is fully seated before torquing the housing bolts.
