This turbocharger gasket seals the joint between the turbocharger and the exhaust manifold or the turbocharger and the charge-air pipe on the host tractor engine. It prevents exhaust-gas leakage at the connection, which would otherwise reduce boost pressure and allow hot gas to escape into the engine bay. The gasket is compressed between the mating flanges during installation; a proper seal depends on clean, flat surfaces and correct torque on the mounting fasteners. A failed gasket produces a whistling noise, a drop in engine power, and possible soot deposits around the joint. As an original AGCO component, the gasket is formed to the same thickness and hole pattern as the original factory part, so it seats without shimming or modification. Replace the gasket whenever the turbocharger is removed or serviced.
