This turbine gasket seals the joint between the turbocharger housing and the exhaust or intake manifold on the host tractor. It prevents exhaust gas or pressurized intake air from leaking past the connection, which would reduce boost pressure and engine efficiency. A failed gasket produces a whistling noise, a drop in engine power, and soot deposits around the joint. The gasket is formed to match the original sealing face geometry, so it compresses evenly when the mounting fasteners are torqued to specification. On reinstallation, clean both mating surfaces and use a new gasket to ensure a leak-free seal.
