This fuel filter removes contaminants from the diesel supply before fuel reaches the high-pressure injection pump. It is mounted in the engine bay, positioned between the fuel tank and the injection system. A clogged filter restricts fuel flow, causing power loss and rough idling, and can allow debris to reach the injectors. The manufacturer machines the sealing surfaces to match the filter-head gasket groove, ensuring a leak-free seal without over-torquing the housing. On replacement, drain the water separator if present and prime the system before starting.
