This engine oil filter removes particulate and combustion byproducts from the engine lubrication circuit before the oil reaches the main bearings and turbocharger. It mounts on the engine block and directs full-flow oil through the filter media; a bypass valve in the housing opens only when the element is fully loaded, so a fresh filter restores normal filtration and oil pressure. A clogged filter forces the bypass valve open, allowing unfiltered oil to circulate, which accelerates bearing and turbo wear. The manufacturer machines the sealing face and thread to match the original housing, so the gasket seats correctly and no adapter is needed. On installation, lightly oil the gasket and tighten the housing to the specified torque.
