This right-side knife bolts to the cutterbar of a disc mower. It is the cutting element that severs crop material as the disc rotates. The knife mounts to the disc carrier and works in conjunction with the left-side knife on the opposite disc to create a scissor action. A worn or chipped knife reduces cut quality and increases power draw. The original manufacturer machines the knife to match the original disc carrier's bolt-hole spacing and thickness, so the cutting edge sits at the correct height relative to the opposing knife. On installation, use new fasteners and torque the retaining bolts to the specification for the cutterbar assembly.
