This cab shock absorber dampens vertical oscillations transmitted from the tractor chassis to the operator station. It is mounted between the cab floor and the frame rails, where it controls rebound and compression movement to reduce vibration felt by the operator. A worn shock absorber allows excessive cab sway and bottoming over field irregularities, which accelerates wear on cab-mount bushings and seals. This component is manufactured to the original spring-rate and damping-valve specifications, so it maintains the same ride height and compression characteristics as the factory-installed unit. On replacement, inspect the mounting bolts and bushings for wear; torque the fasteners to the specified value.
