This solenoid valve controls hydraulic flow to the rear-axle differential lock or a similar axle-mounted actuator. It is installed on the axle housing and receives an electrical signal from the cab switch to open or close the hydraulic circuit. When the valve fails to energize or leaks internally, the differential lock may not engage or may disengage under load. As an original-manufacturer component, its internal spool and seal geometry match the bore tolerances of the axle housing, preventing cross-port leakage that a generic replacement might allow.
