This oil level sensor monitors the fluid level in the engine oil pan and sends a signal to the operator display. It is mounted in the side of the oil pan and provides a low-level warning before oil pressure drops. A failing sensor may produce an intermittent or false low-level alarm, or no alarm when the level is actually low. The sensor is calibrated to the same resistance curve as the original assembly, so the warning threshold matches the engine management system's logic. When replacing, clean the sealing surface and install a new O-ring to prevent oil seepage.
