This cover with guard mounts on the front axle assembly. It shields the axle components from debris and physical impact during field operation. The cover encloses the axle housing, while the guard provides a sacrificial barrier that deflects stones, crop residue, and soil away from seals and bearing surfaces. A damaged or missing cover allows contamination to enter the axle housing, accelerating wear on the internal gears and bearings. The guard section absorbs direct impacts that would otherwise dent or crack the axle housing itself. As an original AGCO component, the cover matches the factory seal surface geometry, ensuring the housing remains sealed against moisture and dirt ingress. On reinstallation, clean the mating face and fit a new seal to maintain the housing's protection rating.
