This friction disc is the driven plate in the clutch pack of the host tractor. It transmits torque from the engine flywheel to the transmission input shaft through its splined hub. The friction material on both faces engages against the pressure plate and the flywheel to provide a gradual, controlled lockup. Wear on the disc reduces clamping force, leading to clutch slip under load and difficulty engaging gears. This original-manufacturer part is machined to the same spline profile and friction-face thickness as the original assembly, so no shimming or hub modification is needed during replacement.
