This electrical resistor is a component of the tractor's air conditioning and electrical system. It regulates the voltage supplied to the blower motor, controlling the fan speed inside the cab. The resistor is mounted in the air-handling ductwork, where it dissipates heat generated by the current draw of the motor. A failed resistor typically results in the blower operating only on its highest speed setting, or not operating at all, because the circuit can no longer step down the voltage.
