This repair kit contains the seals, gaskets, and wear components needed to restore the engine water pump to its original sealing and flow capacity. It is installed on the pump assembly mounted at the front of the engine block, where it maintains coolant circulation between the radiator and the engine jacket. A failing pump seal allows coolant to weep from the vent hole, leading to gradual loss of system pressure and eventual overheating. The kit includes components machined to the same interface dimensions as the original assembly, so the pump impeller clearance and shaft seal seating are preserved without modification. On reassembly, clean the pump housing face and apply a thin film of coolant-compatible lubricant to the seal lip before pressing the shaft into place.
