This bushing is the pivot sleeve for the kingpin assembly on the front axle of the host tractor. It provides the bearing surface between the axle beam and the steering knuckle, allowing the knuckle to rotate for steering while maintaining vertical alignment of the wheel assembly. A worn bushing introduces play in the steering linkage, leading to imprecise steering response and accelerated wear on the kingpin and thrust bearing. As an original-manufacturer component, the bushing is machined to the same bore and shaft clearance as the factory assembly, which eliminates the need for selective shimming during installation.
