This seal ring is installed on the front axle of the host tractor, where it retains lubricant and excludes contaminants at the rotating interface between the axle housing and the shaft. It sits in a machined bore and relies on a tight interference fit to maintain a static seal on the outer diameter while the lip rides on the shaft surface. A worn or hardened lip allows lubricant to weep past the seal, which can lead to bearing damage from reduced oil level or contamination ingress. As an original AGCO component, the seal is molded to the same compound hardness and lip geometry as the factory-installed part, so it seats correctly in the housing bore without additional shimming or modification. On installation, clean the shaft contact area and lubricate the lip before pressing the seal flush with the housing face.
