This reinforced coulter point mounts to the leading edge of the cultivator tine, where it penetrates the soil and creates the furrow for seed placement. It interfaces directly with the tine foot and the wear shin behind it; the hardened tip absorbs the initial impact with stones and compacted soil. A worn point reduces penetration depth and causes the tine to ride up, leading to uneven working depth across the implement. The reinforcement along the shank matches the original geometry so the bolt holes align with the tine without re-drilling. Use the specified mounting bolt and torque it to the implement manual’s value on installation.
