This share point is the reinforced front tip of the cultivator tine. It penetrates the soil first, breaking the crust and creating the initial furrow that the following shank widens. The part is bolted to the tine base using two fasteners; wear on the tip face causes a gradual loss of working depth and increased draft force on the tractor. The reinforcement in the casting extends the service interval between tip replacements compared to a standard un-reinforced point. When reinstalling, use the matching bolts and torque them to the implement manufacturer's specification.
