This pin functions as the pivot or locking element in the seed-drill metering or frame assembly. It connects a moving component, such as a flap or lever, to a stationary bracket, allowing controlled rotation or securing the part in its operating position. Wear on the pin bore or the pin itself introduces play, which can cause misalignment of the metering mechanism and uneven seed drop. As an original component, its diameter and shoulder profile match the casting bore precisely, eliminating the need for shimming during replacement.
