This coulter tip is the forward-most wear component on the short seed-drill coulter assembly. It opens the seed furrow and directs the seed from the metering system into the soil. The tip is the first point of contact with the ground; a worn tip widens the furrow and causes inconsistent seed depth and spacing. The manufacturer machines the tip to match the original coulter body profile, so the seed tube alignment and soil penetration angle are preserved without adjustment. Replace the tip when the leading edge shows visible rounding or when furrow shape becomes irregular.
