This suction filter is installed in the sprayer's intake line between the tank and the pump. It protects the pump by capturing debris from the liquid before it enters the pumping chamber. The integrated bypass valve allows fluid to flow around a fully loaded element, preventing cavitation but reducing filtration efficiency. A clogged filter causes reduced pump output and erratic spray pressure. When replacing, ensure the sealing surfaces are clean and the housing is tightened to the manufacturer's torque specification.
