The tooth flexes under impact to reduce shock loads transmitted to the frame. A worn or bent tooth reduces working depth consistency and increases draft force on the tractor. The coulter tip is replaceable; the tooth itself is a single-piece assembly that bolts directly to the frame bar. On reinstallation, ensure the bolt seats fully in the frame hole and that the tooth is aligned parallel to the travel direction.
