Case IH 10008 – Front Suspension Control Module: Go down error - suspension unable to return to set point
Issue description
The front axle active suspension system is attempting to lower the tractor to its nominal height (the calibrated set point) but is physically or electronically unable to do so. This can also indicate a Front Suspension Piston Pressure transducer range high error, meaning the pressure sensor on the suspension cylinder is reading a higher pressure than expected for the commanded position.

Check the cause
Check for mechanical binding or heavy debris preventing the suspension cylinders from compressing
Inspect the front axle rotary position sensor and its physical linkage rod for being bent, disconnected, or seized
Inspect the wiring harness to the front axle position sensor and suspension piston pressure transducers for shorts to ground, shorts to 5V power, or open circuits
Test the lower lockout solenoid valve on the suspension manifold to ensure it is opening to release pressure
Check if fault code 10024 ('Front suspension not calibrated') is also present, indicating lost set points
Repair steps
Park and secure machine
Park the tractor on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and ensure the area around the front axle is clear.
Inspect mechanical components
Visually inspect the front suspension mechanical components for physical damage preventing downward movement.
Inspect position sensor linkage
Locate the front axle suspension position sensor. Reconnect or replace the linkage rod if it is broken or disconnected.
Test wiring harness
Using a multimeter, test the voltage and continuity of the wiring harness going to the position sensor and the piston pressure transducer. Repair any damaged wiring.
Replace sensors
If the wiring is intact but the sensor readings are erratic or out of range, replace the front axle position sensor or the pressure transducer.
Check lockout solenoid
Check the lower lockout solenoid valve on the suspension manifold. Clean the valve block and replace the solenoid if it fails to actuate.
Perform calibration
After replacing any sensors or resolving mechanical binds, use the tractor's instrument cluster or a diagnostic service tool to perform a full Front Suspension Calibration procedure so the module can relearn the nominal height set points.
Verify repair
Clear the fault codes and test drive the tractor to verify the suspension raises and lowers correctly.
