10009

Case IH 10009 – Front Suspension Controller: Front Suspension Piston Pressure transducer range lower error

Issue description

This fault code indicates that the pressure transducer (sensor) monitoring the piston side of the front suspension cylinder is sending a voltage or pressure reading that is below the acceptable minimum range. This typically points to a failed sensor, a wiring issue (such as an open circuit or a short to ground), or an actual loss of hydraulic pressure in the suspension system.

Applies to these machines

  • Magnum
  • Case IH Magnum 235 - 340 (Series 4)
  • Case IH Puma Series
  • Case IH Steiger Series

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness and connector leading to the front suspension piston pressure transducer for pinched wires, corrosion, open circuits, or shorts to ground.

  2. Check the actual hydraulic pressure on the piston side of the front suspension to ensure the system hasn't suffered a mechanical pressure loss (e.g., a blown seal or leaking valve).

  3. Use a multimeter or diagnostic tool to check the voltage output of the sensor. If the suspension is pressurized but the sensor is outputting a baseline/low voltage, the transducer has failed.

Repair steps

  1. Depressurize the System

Lower the front suspension completely and relieve all hydraulic pressure from the suspension control block before attempting to remove any sensors.

  2. Remove the Faulty Sensor

Disconnect the electrical harness from the piston pressure transducer and unthread the sensor from the suspension control block.

  3. Install the New Sensor

Thread the new pressure transducer into the block and tighten to OEM specifications. Reconnect the electrical harness.

  4. Pressurize and Check for Leaks

Start the tractor and allow the hydraulic system to pressurize. Inspect the new sensor fitting for leaks.

  5. Run Calibration

You must run a front suspension calibration cycle using the tractor's onboard diagnostic menu or an electronic service tool (EST) to sync the new sensor and restore normal suspension travel.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • Front Suspension Piston Pressure Transducer / Sensor

Specific OEM part numbers vary heavily by exact chassis serial number. Look up the exact part via the CNH Industrial parts catalog using the tractor's PIN/Serial Number under the 'Front Axle Suspension' or 'Hydraulic Control Block' diagrams.
