10027

Case IH 10027 – CCM (Chassis Control Module): Suspension will not raise fault.

Issue description

The active front axle suspension system has been commanded to raise by the control module, but the system is failing to achieve the target height or pressure within the expected timeframe. This is typically caused by a failure in the hydraulic supply, a faulty position sensor, a stuck solenoid in the suspension valve block, or a depleted nitrogen accumulator.

Applies to these machines

  • VESTRUM CVX
  • Case IH Puma Series (165, 185, 200, 210, 220, 240)
  • Case IH Optum / T7HD Series
  • Case IH Magnum Series (180-380)

Check the cause

  1. Check the primary hydraulic fluid levels and inspect the front suspension hydraulic cylinders, valve block, and hoses for visible leaks or physical damage.

  2. Inspect the front axle rotary position sensor linkage for physical damage.

  3. Test the position sensor using a multimeter or diagnostic tool to verify the voltage sweeps smoothly without dropouts as the axle moves.

  4. Verify that the solenoids in the level control block are receiving voltage from the CCM when a 'raise' command is initiated.

  5. Check the front suspension nitrogen accumulators to ensure they have not lost their pre-charge (often 20 bar).

Repair steps

  1. Depressurize the System

Before opening any hydraulic lines, safely support the front of the tractor and relieve all hydraulic pressure from the suspension circuit.

  2. Address the Root Cause

If the position sensor failed: Unbolt the faulty rotary position sensor from the front axle linkage, install the new sensor, and ensure the linkage arm is correctly indexed. If the valve block/solenoids failed: Remove the protective cap plate (if applicable) and replace the faulty solenoid cartridge. If the block is internally bypassing, replace the entire suspension manifold valve block. If the accumulators failed: Unscrew the faulty 1L or 2L accumulator spheres from the manifold and install new units.

  3. Reassemble and Bleed

Reconnect all hydraulic lines and electrical connectors. Start the tractor and allow the primary hydraulic system to build pressure and bleed air from the suspension circuit.

  4. Calibration

Connect the CNH diagnostic tool (EST) or use the tractor's onboard diagnostic menu to clear the 10027 fault code. You must perform a front suspension calibration routine so the CCM can relearn the minimum and maximum travel limits of the new components.
