Case IH 10035 – PTO Controller: PTO Controller Failure - ADC locked up
Issue description
The ADC (Analog-to-Digital Converter) inside the controller has frozen or stopped processing signals, indicating an internal hardware or memory fault.

Check the cause
Verify the battery voltage, as low battery voltage can cause controller errors.
Locate the PTO Controller and inspect the connector ends (specifically the J1 Gray and J2 Black connectors) for any damaged, bent, or dislocated pins.
Verify that the controller has a good, clean connection to the battery and is properly grounded to the chassis.
Check for intermittent power supply or ground drops to the controller.
Repair steps
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to ensure safety.
Locate the PTO Controller module.
Disconnect the wiring harnesses from the controller and perform the visual pin inspection and voltage/ground checks.
Determine if the fault is an internal defect within the controller itself.
If power, ground, and wiring integrity are all verified to be good, the ADC is physically locked up/failed.
Remove the mounting hardware securing the defective PTO Controller.
Install the new PTO Controller module.
Reconnect the wiring harnesses, ensuring the connectors are fully seated and locked.
Reconnect the battery, turn the key on, and clear the fault codes to verify the repair.
