Case IH 10038 – INST module: Controller Memory Error - Loss of Valid Remote Timer information

The internal memory (EEPROM) inside the controller has lost its saved configuration or calibration data specifically relating to the remote hydraulic timer settings.

   Check the battery voltage, as low voltage during startup can cause temporary memory drops in the controller.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connections to the Instrumentation Controller (specifically connector CN2) to ensure it has a good connection to the battery and is properly grounded.

   Verify if other configuration data was also lost (e.g., codes 10031 through 10037). Multiple memory codes usually point to a complete EEPROM failure.

   Ensure the tractor's battery is fully charged and all connections to the instrument cluster are secure and properly grounded.

   Access the tractor's display menu or connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST).

   Navigate to the configuration/calibration menu and manually re-enter the Remote Timer information, then save the settings.

   Cycle the key power (shut down the tractor, wait, and turn it back on) to see if the controller retains the memory.

   If the fault code returns or the controller cannot save the configuration, the internal memory (EEPROM) has permanently failed. The Instrumentation Controller (Instrument Cluster) must be replaced.
