Case IH 1007 – Hitch Controller, Hydraulic Controller, or Armrest Controller Module (ACM) / Electronic Draft Control (EDC): Slip control potentiometer - signal too high (or voltage too high)
Issue description
The signal voltage returning from the slip control potentiometer to the controller has exceeded the maximum allowable threshold. This is usually caused by a short circuit to a power source, an open circuit on the potentiometer's ground wire, or an internal failure within the potentiometer itself.

Check the cause
Visually inspect the slip control knob on the EDC panel or Multicontroller armrest for physical damage.
Disconnect the potentiometer and inspect the harness connector for pushed-out pins, corrosion, or moisture, which can bridge the 5V reference to the signal wire.
Using a multimeter, verify that the potentiometer is receiving a solid ground (a broken ground wire is the most common cause of a signal too high code).
Turn the key ON (engine off) and verify the reference wire has exactly 5V. Check the signal wire for any voltage; if it reads 12V, there is a short to battery power in the harness.
Measure the resistance of the potentiometer through its full sweep. If the resistance drops out or reads open (infinite ohms) at any point, the potentiometer is internally defective.
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the ignition key and disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent electrical spikes.
Access the Potentiometer
Remove the retaining screws and trim panels on the Multicontroller armrest or the right-hand EDC console to access the underside of the control panel.
Remove the Faulty Sensor
Pull the plastic knob off the top of the slip control potentiometer. Disconnect the 3-pin wiring harness from the bottom of the sensor. Remove the retaining nut holding the potentiometer to the console bracket.
Install the New Part
Insert the new potentiometer through the console, align the indexing tab, and tighten the retaining nut. Push the control knob back onto the splined/D-shaped shaft.
Reassemble
Reconnect the 3-pin wiring harness. Reinstall all armrest/console trim panels.
Test and Clear Codes
Reconnect the battery. Turn the key to the ON position and use the tractor's diagnostic menu (or a dealer scan tool) to clear the inactive 1007 fault code. Test the slip control knob to ensure the error does not return.
