Case IH 1007 – Tractor Control Unit (TCU): Low side driver watchdog test failed

An electrical or software-related fault indicating that the watchdog monitoring circuit for the low side driver has detected an anomaly. This is typically caused by an incorrectly wired Tractor Control Unit (TCU) harness or a software issue within the control unit.

   Review service history to determine if any recent wiring harness repairs, modifications, or replacements were made near the Tractor Control Unit (TCU)

   Locate TCU connector C063 on the wiring harness

3. 3

   Inspect pin 8 on connector C063 to ensure it is open (not incorrectly pinned, grounded, or spliced into another circuit)

   Access TCU

   Power down the tractor and access the Tractor Control Unit (TCU).

   Disconnect connector

   Disconnect TCU connector C063.

   Inspect and correct wiring

   Inspect the wiring at pin 8. If previous harness repairs were made and pin 8 was incorrectly wired, de-pin or correct the wiring so that pin 8 remains open as per factory specifications.

   Reconnect connector

   Reconnect connector C063 securely to the TCU.

   Clear fault code and verify

   Turn the key on, clear the fault code using your diagnostic tool, and return the unit to field service to verify the repair.

   Update software

   If connector C063 pin 8 is correctly open and the wiring harness is undamaged, the fault is likely a software issue. Use a dealer-level diagnostic tool (such as the CNH EST) to flash or update the TCU to the latest software calibration.
