Issue description

Fault code 10091 indicates an internal hardware failure within a control module—specifically, the internal +5 Volt (or +8 Volt) supply voltage regulator is reading out of range (typically too high or failed). This internal regulator is responsible for stepping down the machine's battery voltage to power the controller's internal circuitry and external 5V reference sensors.

Check the cause

  1. Test battery and alternator

    Test the battery and alternator with a multimeter while the machine is running to ensure voltage is not spiking above 14.5V.

  2. Inspect and test harness

    Disconnect the harness from the affected controller (Steering, Transmission, or Armrest) and clean the pins. Test the power and ground pins on the harness side for correct voltage and continuity to the chassis.

  3. Diagnose internal failure

    If the external power supply and grounds are at the correct levels but the 10091 code remains active, the controller has suffered an unrepairable internal hardware failure.

  5. Install replacement controller
