Case IH 1014 – Hitch Controller: Right-hand load sensing pin - signal too low
Issue description
The voltage signal returning from the right-hand draft load sensing pin is below the minimum acceptable threshold. This typically points to an open circuit, a short to ground in the wiring harness, or a complete internal failure of the sensor's potentiometer.

Check the cause
Visual Inspection: Inspect the wiring harness and the connector at the right-hand draft load sensing pin for torn wires, crushed conduits, or severe corrosion inside the connector plug.
Voltage Check: Disconnect the sensor and turn the ignition key to the ON position. Measure the reference voltage (5V or 8V) and the ground pin at the connector. If missing, the issue is a wiring harness failure.
Component Swap Test: Swap the electrical connectors between the left-hand and right-hand load sensing pins and turn the key ON. If the fault code changes to 1016, the sensor pin is internally faulty; if it remains 1014, the wiring harness on the right side is compromised.
Repair steps
Lower the 3-point hitch
Lower the 3-point hitch completely to the ground to relieve all mechanical tension and weight from the lower draft links.
Disconnect power
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery.
Unplug electrical connector
Unplug the electrical connector from the faulty right-hand load sensing pin.
Remove retaining hardware
Remove the retaining hardware (snap ring, locking bolt, or cotter pin) securing the draft pin to the tractor chassis bracket.
Remove old pin
Drive the old load sensing pin out of the linkage.
Install new pin
Clean the bore of any rust or debris, apply a light coat of anti-seize, and install the new OEM load sensing pin.
Secure and reconnect
Secure the pin with the retaining hardware and reconnect the electrical harness.
Perform calibration
Perform a hydraulic lift/hitch calibration procedure via the tractor's display or calibration switch so the Hitch Controller learns the baseline voltage of the new pin.
Alternative: Install Pin Elimination Kit (Bypass)
If electronic draft control is not needed, unplug factory harnesses from both pins, plug the two electronic elimination modules directly into the tractor's wiring harness connectors, and secure with zip ties.
