Check the cause
Visually inspect connector SW202 and the wiring harness for chafing, loose connectors, or bent pins.
Perform a continuity test on the switch using a multimeter (Pin 4: Signal Slip Select, Pin 5: Switch Power, Pin 6: Signal Slip Set).
Verify continuity between Pin 4 and Pin 5 (and no continuity to Pin 6) when toggled to SLIP SELECT.
Verify continuity between Pin 5 and Pin 6 (and no continuity to Pin 4) when toggled to SLIP SET.
If the switch passes continuity tests, check the wiring harness between SW202 and the ARM controller board for an open or short to ground.
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts.
Access the Armrest
Remove the retaining screws on the right-hand armrest console to lift the upper control panel housing.
Disconnect the Switch
Locate the failed Hitch Slip switch on the panel. Disconnect the SW202 electrical connector from the back of the switch.
Remove the Switch
Depress the retaining tabs on the sides of the switch body (or remove the retaining nut, depending on the exact cab trim) and push the switch out of the armrest bezel.
Install the New Part
Snap the new OEM switch into the armrest panel until it clicks securely into place.
Reconnect
Plug the SW202 connector into the new switch, ensuring the locking tab engages.
Reassemble
Carefully lower the armrest housing back into place, ensuring no wires are pinched, and reinstall the retaining screws.
Test
Reconnect the battery, turn the key on, and use the tractor's instrumentation monitor to verify that fault code ARM 1059 is stored/inactive and can be cleared. Test the hitch slip limit function to confirm the repair.
