Case IH 1060 – Remote (AUX) Controller / Armrest Controller (ARU): Aux 4th remote valve Timer Switch is failed in the Armrest Controller

Issue description

The system is either detecting a physical electrical failure of the switch/circuit or a software configuration mismatch preventing the switch from communicating properly.

Check the cause

  1. Access the tractor's display (e.g., Pro 700) or H-Menu to verify that the 4th remote valve is properly configured, enabled, and calibrated (configuration mismatch cause).

  2. Inspect the connector ends at the Armrest Controller for damaged, bent, pushed-back, or corroded pins (wiring/connection cause).

  3. Test the 4th remote valve timer switch for continuity and check the wiring harness between the switch and the Armrest Controller for open circuits or shorts to ground (component failure cause).

Repair steps

  1. Recalibrate/Reconfigure

If the diagnostic checks reveal a configuration loss (often accompanied by memory error codes like AUX 9009 or 9019), perform the remote valve calibration procedure using the instrument panel or monitor.

  2. Repair Wiring

If bent pins or damaged wires are found at the Armrest Controller harness, repair the wiring or replace the connector pins.

  3. Replace Component

If the switch itself tests bad, it must be replaced. Note: On many of these Case IH models, the remote valve timer switches are hardwired or soldered directly into the Armrest Controller circuit board. If the switch cannot be serviced independently, the entire Armrest Controller must be replaced or sent to a remanufacturer.

  4. Clear Codes

After replacing the controller or correcting the configuration, cycle the key and clear the fault codes to verify the repair.
